What are the washing instructions for Quadra Belgium items?
As a general rule, choose a 30° wash, inside out when possible. Be careful with spinning too quickly, as the item will be waterlogged and heavy, which can create excess pressure at the seams and damage if the fabric is not very thick (this concerns items with quilted or foam flake padding). A setting of 400 rpm seems appropriate. Always shake this type of item after washing/spinning to replace the padding as it was originally. However, be aware that washing or drying too hot can reduce the volume of the inner padding, as the foam flakes are more stable at this level.
Drying with a dryer is not recommended as it damages the fibers and alters the softness of ultra-soft materials such as pile (long, straight, or curly). It can also damage faux leather materials. However, drying with a cold or warm air cycle twice should normally not damage the item. Then leave the item to air dry to finish drying.
How can I assess the quality of your Quadra Belgium products before ordering?
We guarantee a delivered product equal to or greater than the quality of the item pictured.
As for the perceived quality on the site, we ensure that it reflects reality. Indeed, we believe that local and artisanal products must stand out from competing, and generally Chinese, creations whose "photographic" quality is often deliberately exaggerated to obtain purchases that are disappointing in the end.
You should also be very wary of items offered at very low prices on certain social networks. Indeed, all these items come from China (which is not reported...) and everything is done to give you an impression of perceived quality and trigger your purchase. Either there will be disappointment upon delivery, or there will be major damage during the first wash, or both.
Is the price difference compared to imported items justified?
Definitely yes, although generally low. These handcrafted items "made in Belgium" are subject to heavy labor costs and therefore need to be different in terms of perceived quality (significantly higher weight of the object, durability following repeated washing, use of much more noble raw materials, etc.). Only Quadra Belgium customers will confirm the adage "it's the cheap that costs dear..."
Indeed, constantly renewing a cheap item is not really a good deal, nor very ecological.
Take a good look at the final price of Quadra items, knowing that they are in competition with Polish or Czech items manufactured for three times less and Chinese items manufactured up to ten times less. The difference in terms of low production costs is absolutely not reflected in the final price (often close to or even higher than ours) but in the profit of those who import finished products manufactured by the thousands, at low cost and in the conditions we know.
How do I know that an item I buy in a store is not manufactured at very low cost in emerging countries?
It's very simple: when a Western European manufacturer insists on manufacturing in its own country despite significant financial disadvantages, it is proud to display it on its product. Indeed, displaying "made in Belgium," "made in Germany," or "made in France" inspires confidence and gives the impression of responsible purchasing behavior in terms of employment. On the other hand, if you don't see the product's production origin, it's because the importer didn't want to display it visibly. And for good reason: they take the (financial) advantages, but not the disadvantages (abandonment of the product by the "ethical" consumer). Also be wary of claims like "designed in Belgium," sometimes associated with the Belgian flag, with the sole aim of misleading people as to the product's true origin.
How to compose an article?
Using the available materials displayed on the site, you can easily create a Quadra Belgium item, and why not make it a unique piece? You can create cushions, mattresses, carrier bags, baskets, quilted throws, blankets, and more.
If you're lacking inspiration..., you can always enter an item in the "examples of creations" section. We can then reproduce it identically or in the desired size.
Do not hesitate to ask your question about the possibility of custom-made production.
Once my payment has been made, what are the timeframes?
The item you've chosen doesn't exist... yet. We'll make it in our workshop in Tournai. Depending on the volume of orders, delivery times will vary between 2 and 10 business days.
The artisanal philosophy is reflected in this online sales method. There's no instant response to any questions. Instead, there's automated confirmation of your order.
No robots and like any business, statutory holiday periods for clothing staff will be mentioned, as they will result in a reduction or temporary halt in production, although orders will of course still be possible and recorded.
